Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Virtue
Whoever recites it on going to bed will have a guardian from Allah, and no devil will come near him until morning.
Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul huwa Allahu ahad. Allahus-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to Him any equivalent.
Virtue
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite these three chapters into his cupped hands, blow into them, and wipe over as much of his body as he could reach, beginning with his head and face.
Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul a'udhu bi-rabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul a'udhu bi-rabbin-nas. Malikin-nas. Ilahin-nas. Min sharril-waswasil-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudurin-nas. Minal-jinnati wan-nas.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers in the breasts of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind.

Virtue
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught Fatimah to say this on going to bed, saying it was better for her than a servant.
O Allah, I submit myself to You, entrust my affair to You, turn my face to You, and rely completely on You, in hope of You and in fear of You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed and in Your Prophet whom You sent.
Virtue
Whoever says this and dies that night dies upon the natural way of Islam.
